Major Development

The Education Alliance for Ukraine (EAUA) has been selected to Co-Lead the Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing vertical of the German Marshall Fund’s Ukraine Cities Partnership (UCP) initiative.

The city of Korosten, located in the Zhytomyr Oblast, is the first municipality to join UCP, an initiative led by GMF to support the sustainable, resilient, and inclusive recovery of Ukrainian cities in response to the devastation caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion.

As the first city to join UCP, Korosten will pilot innovative solutions and serve as an inspiring, scalable model for reconstruction efforts across Ukraine.

Through this collaboration, EAUA will join forces with GMF, other UCP partners, Mayor Moskalenko, and the City Council to design and deliver innovative, urban solutions that foster sustainable growth, strengthen resilience, and build an inclusive future for all residents.

EAUA’s role will focus on conducting needs assessments, identifying training and capacity gaps, aligning with national policies as well as creating the programs necessary to meet these needs for Ukraine.

This marks an important step toward scaling local recovery efforts and ensuring that cities like Korosten are not only rebuilt—but reimagined for the future.

Thank you German Marshall Fund for your trust and partnership. We’re just getting started!
